DH Osteopathy - Congleton
Many people seek osteopathic treatment for relief of various aches and pains. Commonly it has applications in managing and treating what could be considered minor orthopaedic conditions, though when you are at the receiving end of such a condition and in pain it may not seem at all minor! It also has an important place in encouraging health. I often think of the body as the complaints department in the office of life when it produces symptoms. The therapeutic task is to discover what it may be about your life currently that it is complaining about. Osteopathy combines skilled manual therapy with an exploration of the factors that lead to and maintain a problem; so the treatment often involves attention to lifestyle factors, which can include nutrition, exercise and psycho-emotional aspects of a person's functioning. The focus then becomes more about encouraging that feeling of physical and mental wellbeing that we could describe as health rather than a focus on health as seen as an absence of disease or distress. Osteopathy is an approach that is applicable to all ages.
